The Danos GIVES grant program awards funding to approved 501(c) 3 or 170 (b) organizations Click here to verify an organization’s 501(c) 3 or 170(b) status through the IRS database. that benefit Education Education charities make learning possible for students of all ages, from pre-school to graduate school. They also provide other educational services and opportunities that help make schools more effective and more accessible to students of all backgrounds. Examples
a. teacher grants
b. technology support
c. book drives
, Healthcare Health charities cure diseases, treat and support our sick and disabled, seek improvements in medical treatments, and promote public understanding and awareness of particular health risks, diseases and disabilities. Examples:
a. wish granting programs
b. housing/travel assistance for those in medical need
c. children’s hospitals
, Environment Environment charities work to preserve and protect the environment and to promote environmental research, conservation and appreciation. Examples:
a. coastal restoration
b. conservation initiatives
c. tree planting and beautification campaigns
or Welfare Welfare charities provide networks of direct services to people in need. They feed our hungry, strengthen our communities, shelter our homeless, care for our elderly and nurture our young. Examples:
a. disaster preparedness and relief
b. camps and youth ranches serving at-risk children
c. food banks, food pantries and food distribution
initiatives in the areas where Danos lives or conducts business. For 2017 – 2020, special consideration is given to organizations that help resolve community Welfare Welfare charities provide networks of direct services to people in need. They feed our hungry, strengthen our communities, shelter our homeless, care for our elderly and nurture our young. Examples:
a. disaster preparedness and relief
b. camps and youth ranches serving at-risk children
c. food banks, food pantries and food distribution
challenges. This grant program is funded through charitable gifts from Danos employees and supplemented with funds from the company.

Grant Application Instructions

Interested in applying for a Danos GIVES grant? Please submit your online grant application by 11:59 p.m. August 31, so Danos GIVES can learn about the mission of your organization and better understand how a grant can help you. Be sure to review our grant eligibility guidelines to make sure your organization is eligible. Please note, applications and attachments will only be accepted through the online portal. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

The application consists of five sections:

Grant Review Process / Award Timeline
  • Aug. 31:Deadline for submitting grant applications
  • Sept. 1 – 30:Grant selection committee reviews and ranks applications
  • Oct. 1:Ranked applications submitted to the Danos Foundation Board
  • Dec. 15:Foundation Board selects next year’s grant recipients
  • Dec. 30:Community Impact Report(s) due from current year grant recipients
  • Jan. 1 – 30:Grant recipients notified and funds distributed
