Danos partners with Battlefields to Oilfields Program to hire veterans. Here is just one of the many success stories.
With 50% of the current experienced oil and gas industry workforce approaching retirement age, the “Great Crew Change” represents a unique opportunity for new, capable workers to obtain long-term careers in the oil and gas industry. The Battlefields to Oilfields program aims to prepare returning US veterans for fulfilling careers in the industry. The program helps veterans and oilfield employers come together. Justin Yates is a great example of a recent success story of one the many workforce development initiatives Danos is involved in across the state.
The program provides five weeks of industry training and certifications, housing and 3 meals a day, full funding through the post -9/11 GI-Bill, job placement assistance and personal protective equipment.
Justin served as an air traffic controller in the US Air Force for 4 years with two tours as a contractor in Kabul, Afghanistan. Once home, he began to explore new career opportunities. He first heard about Danos through his father who is currently working offshore for Danos on the BP account. He heard about Battlefields to Oilfields through Facebook and joined the program. Danos partners with Battlefield to Oilfield for potential candidates and was successful in getting Justin placed into a challenging and rewarding career opportunity.
