Continuing its strategy of providing greater overall value to its customers, Danos has acquired API Control System Solutions (API), a privately owned, Louisiana-based company specializing in instrumentation and electrical (I&E) solutions for the oil and gas industry.
On Wednesday, July 2, 2014, Danos President and CEO, Hank Danos, and API co-owners, Felix Dominique and John Danos (no relation to Hank Danos), reached an agreement, transferring ownership of API to Danos.
The purchase of API will add a broad spectrum of solutions, services and capabilities including I&E construction, commissioning, maintenance, calibration and testing, control system design, system integration, manufacturing and installation to Danos’ service offerings – construction, production workforce, fabrication, coatings, scaffolding, specialized consultants, shore base and logistics, and environmental services.
“Adding I&E to our family of capabilities is the direct result of customer requests for a seamless, turnkey service provider,” said Hank Danos. “We are always searching for ways to solve our customers’ challenges, and acquiring API allows us to provide another key element.”
All API employees will remain on staff, adding to Danos’ current employee base of over 1,700. API operations will continue at both of their current facilities in New Orleans and Lafayette. API Co-Owner and Vice President of Operations, Dominique, will become I&E operations manager, and John Danos will stay on as an advisor throughout the transition. Alan Broxson has been named division manager for the I&E service line.
“API is proud to be part of the Danos organization. Both companies are dedicated to ensuring a safe work environment and are committed to providing excellent customer service. Together, we will accelerate the growth potential of all services, systems and products offered by Danos and API,” said Dominique.
