The first quarter meeting of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI) Emerging Leaders Council was proudly hosted by Danos at company headquarters in Gray on Thursday, January 12. Those in attendance were treated to lunch, a briefing by LABI, a panel discussion of the economic factors that impact our region and a presentation by Eric Danos about Danos. Panelists included Senator Norby Chabert, State Representative Zee Zeringue, Chett Chiasson, Executive Director of Greater Lafourche Port Commission Gordon Dove, Terrebonne Parish President, and President/CEO of the South Louisiana Economic Council Vic Lafont.
There were lively discussions about criminal justice reform, coastal restoration and the tremendous impact that Port Fourchon provides. The day ended with a presentation at BP’s learning center where ELC members were shown training tools used for preparing deepwater operators. Those in attendance were LABI President Stephan Waguespack, LABI Vice President for Policy and Research Camille Conway, LABI ELC Chairman Nial Patel, as well as over 30 ELC members from all over the state. Seth Guidry, project manager - project services, represents the bayou region and Danos as a member of the 2016-2017 inaugural ELC class. Emerging Leaders Council is composed of fifty young professionals throughout Louisiana with an interest in civic duty and economic development within their state.
